Jess and Tom; they make our hearts melt! Everyone who was a part of Jess and Tom’s special day gets all of the gold stars! Mother Nature helped us out by holding back the rain and Jess and Tom had their guests throw the most enviromentally conscious (and best smelling, says Jess) confetti – lavender – after their beautiful ceremony. Jess found the best deal on her absolutely perfect dress at The Darling Dress (if you are reading this now and are in need of a dress go check out The Darling Dress; this is the last day of their mega sale!) and The Woodlands was 100% gorgeous thanks to a little help from The Party Peeps! Everyone’s expressions throughout the entire day, from Jess and Tom’s first look to Jess and her Dad’s father-daughter dance, have us all at the studio beaming from ear to ear. Here’s to the sweetest family that is now a little bigger, to the sweetest wedding day, and to the sweetest newlyweds!
Congratulations, Jess and Tom!!
bonus sidenote: Tom gets the most gold stars for winning the Dollar Dance despite not knowing the “rules”. For those of you who also don’t know about the Dollar Dance, a Polish wedding tradition, guests will usually give a dollar bill to the bride’s sister or maid of honor in order to have a turn to dance with the bride. After the bride’s father dances with her, all of the wedding guests form a circle around the bride in order to keep the groom out. The groom must break his way into the circle to his bride. Tom has never heard of this tradition up until right when it was happening during their reception when he marched right in and lifted Jess into the air. Tom takes Dollar Dance 2019. Bravo!

Aime and Shayne celebrated their special day at Scranton’s very own Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, and it was beyond beautiful! We cannot get enough of the details on Aime’s dress!! She even rocked a sixpence in her shoe for good luck, paying homage to the lesser known ending of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a silver sixpence in her shoe”. Aime and Shayne’s special day was filled with live entertainment. It is tradition for the bag piper in Aime’s family to play at special occasions; he greeted guests outside of The Radisson before the ceremony and played inside after the I Do’s, too! Silver and Ivory, a flute and piano duo, performed during the ceremony while Aime’s brother’s girlfriend, Jamie Straw, did an amazing live painting that Aime even used for her thank you cards! You can check it out below!! We wish Aime and Shayne all of the congratulations, and we hope you enjoy this glimpse into their big day!

We could tell how much Melissa and Greg love each other just by seeing the way they look at each other. Their wedding day was filled with laughter, mostly thanks to Greg’s best man, Curt, who considers himself Greg’s “doppelgänger twin brother”, and heartfelt hugs thanks to Melissa’s maid of honor, Jess, who is actually Melissa’s amazing twin sister! (Sorry, Curt.. can’t beat that!) As Melissa’s sister shared in her speech, she has always been asked if she could feel “that twin thing”, and has always answered with a ‘no’. However, during Melissa and Greg’s ceremony, Melissa’s sister said she felt those exact same butterflies that Melissa felt. We think we felt a few of those butterflies, too.
Cheers to The Atherholts!!

Sweet, sweet Sam and Logan. We love them dearly. Their wedding day was every little of bit of who they are and absolutely perfect. They had a small ceremony at the historic Hayfield House on Penn State’s Wilkes-Barre campus filled with close family, friends, high fives, and the best facial expressions! After the ceremony we explored the campus during the wedding party photos. However, one of the groomsmen decided to take a break, so Sam and Logan recruited one of their friends to be a ‘stand-in’ groomsman… a pinch hitter groomsman who happened to be in a Hawaiian shirt, if you will. If you should ever find yourself missing a groomsman at your wedding, we highly recommend Sam and Logan’s tropical friend; his stand in skills are impeccable. The couple held their post ceremony celebration at Fire & Ice on Toby Creek. The food was incredibly delicious, and their cake by the very talented Electric City Bakehouse was stunning and scrumptious! Sam and Logan both agreed that for their wedding day they “literally wanted to get married and then get dinner, and [they] did just that.”
Congratulations to The Shooks!!

What an epically romantic wedding day! Karlie and Jeff’s celebration was filled with sunshine, soft colors, and a whole lotta love! The couple chose to hold their ceremony in their alma mater’s chapel, The University of Scranton’s Madonna Della Strada Chapel. We were able to get such gorgeous shots while we wandered around campus after the ceremony, too!! From the baby’s breath accents in Karlie’s bridesmaids’ hair to the way Karlie and Jeff looked at each other during their first dance as newlyweds, everyone was swooning the whole day! However, we think our favorite detail has to be Karlie’s great grandmother’s ingenuity when it came to decking out her walking frame!! What an incredible idea! We hope you enjoy this glimpse into Karlie and Jeff’s special day.
Congrats to the newlyweds!

The KJAD Crew was looking so forward to Shannon and Greg’s wedding after getting to know the couple at their engagement session in Lancaster earlier this year. Their wedding day was nothing short of spectacular. Everyone was able to take in each part of the day to enjoy it to the fullest from prep to the packed dance floor. We always love the beginning moments of the day during prep when there’s a heightened sense of excitement for what’s to come; marrying your best friend!! We have to admit, we’re a little jealous of Shannon’s gift to Greg. That Ghostbusters Lego Set looks awesome! We are also really grateful that the rain held off after the ceremony to give us some time to explore The University of Scranton’s beautiful campus. There are so many incredible, dreamy shots of the newlyweds under all of the cherry blossom trees; we think all of them are our favorites!
All of our congratulations to Shannon and Greg!!

What an epic wedding day!! Mandi and Shaun chose to celebrate their special day on May 4th, and the force was definitely with them! From the Star Wars watch Mandi gifted to Shaun to their three pound white chocolate cake topper straight from Disney, the couple’s personalities shone through in every little detail. We even noticed a trail of glitter from the start of the day all the way to Constantino’s where the reception was held. Our favorite part of the day, other than seeing Mandi and Sean get married, had to be running from the Luzerne County Courthouse and over the Market Street Bridge to Kirby Park to snap some amazing shots of the newlyweds in their horse pulled carriage… that counts as a 5k, right!? We also can’t forget about Mandi’s sister’s speech that caught all of us off guard when a doorbell began to ring introducing a Domino’s Delivery Driver. It turns out that Shaun likes to order Domino’s.. often, so Mandi’s sister thought it would be the perfect gift for Shaun on his wedding day! Gotta love sister-in-laws! Speaking of in-laws, we couldn’t have said it better than Mandi’s new brother-in-law, Billy, in wishing the happy couple…
“May the Fourth be with your marriage!”

“Look Hughes getting married!” It’s Kathryn and Shawn Hughes. Get it? Eh? We are all about puns at KJAD, but that’s not the only reason why we loved being a part of the newlyweds’ big day. Kathryn and Shawn have some of the biggest hearts, and we could tell as soon as we met them. Their big day had us experiencing some ‘firsts’ in our wedding world. Instead of a guest book or signing your name onto a wooden heart, the couple had everyone sign a guest quilt. It must be the warmest quilt in the world with all of the love that everyone put into it. There was also a mariachi band that serenaded everyone before dinner that blew us away. They are welcome to come perform at the studio whenever they’d like to. Congrats to Kathryn and Shawn! What a beautiful wedding day!!
