Yay for perfect weather! We got to shoot at the bride’s alma mater, Misericordia University, starting at the iconic archway, making our way through the campus, and even getting the chance to explore a few Mercy Hall rooms! Andra and Chris had the coolest idea to release butterflies after their ceremony.  The butterflies may not have taken flight, but they tried their best! Props to the butterfly who was nice enough to hang out with us for a photoshoot with the newlywed’s rings. Thanks, little guy! The butterflies weren’t the only ones having all of the fun. Shooting is so effortless when everyone is having a genuinely great time, and it doesn’t get more fun than smashing cake in the face of your best friend. Congratulations to Andra & Chris!

Talk about WOW! Janine and Ian’s classic black & white wedding at Downtown Wilkes-Barre’s Westmoreland Club had us in awe the whole day.  The little details danced so perfectly together, like the thoughtful spice jar they filled to symbolize the joining of their love.  Speaking of dancing, we’ve never seen a super formal dance transition into silly fun so perfectly.  Surrounded by timeless atmosphere in the ballroom and feeling so much love in the air we were all moved to “laugh and cry with joy” well into the warm, summer night; and maybe even a little past that. Alex and Jack’s wedding was held at Huntsville Golf Club in Dallas, PA, and it just happens to be one of our favorite clubs. Great clubhouse, beautiful grounds and an even better looking golf course. Complete with rolling hills, rustic stone walls, sweeping hills and valleys, there were so many nooks and crannies for us to explore. We don’t typically get the opportunity, especially on such a gorgeous day, to roam around the course, grounds and clubhouse for our photo opportunities for the wedding – First looks privately out front, family sessions on the back practice green, ceremonies behind the clubhouse and a bumping party under the stars and tent. It was such a great choice for Alex and Jack to enjoy their wedding day with friends and family… and they certainly did!

When it rains it pours. And for Amy and Doug it poured most of the day. During their first look, ceremony and first hour of their “formal shoot” time. And it was definitely some of the heaviest rain KJAD ever experienced at a wedding. However, lots of patience and steve’s sharp eye for the weather radar, enabled us to get just a few minutes of beautiful weather for their outdoor photos. And with luck on our side… and a trusty iPhone weather app, the rain held off for the remainder of the evening and Amy, Doug, and friends and family celebrated their wonderful day outside at a beautifully decorated pavilion.

These two families really (- cue California Love by 2Pac) know how to party. Kelly and Alex tore it up with their friends and family at the Raddison Lackawanna Station Hotel. They began their day with prep and a ceremony at the station, left for a bit for photos with us and Izzie, their adorable pup, at Lake Scranton, and then returned to get the party started back at the station. Their reception had two killer speeches by not one, and not two, but three bridesmaids and three groomsmen. Total team effort. The ladies killed it and the fellas sealed the deal. The Heartbeats band kicked it up a notch and kept everyone on the dance floor for the remainder of the night. (“in the city, the city of Scranton” … ok ok, i’m done) – enjoy!
